It also depends on the 1.0 version; one of them has a GPF and others don’t. Mine from 2018, for example, doesn’t have a GPF, which is the 129hp version; the 126hp one does have the GPF.
It’s good that the belt came out perfect; it says good things about Honda.
I hope it wasn’t the pump replacement for a recall campaign…
I think @kant did the same at an official dealer for less than what you were charged, I’m guessing at an independent shop.
Morrillu: just putting it out there…
Hi, I wanted to ask for your opinion/recommendation.
I have my 1.0 and I have a 23AB service scheduled for March 27th; they’ve already given me a quote of 550 euros… Now my doubt is, I have 94,000 kilometers and it’s from July 2020, should I take the opportunity to do the timing belt now???
I don’t know what to do, from what I’ve been reading I’m looking at nearly a 2,000 euro service if I do everything ![]()

Hi, do you know if the parts they used for the new timing belt are genuine Honda or aftermarket? I’m telling you this because Honda has been updating their part numbers as they’ve refined and improved the parts to address potential issues with the wet belt, and if they’ve used parts with the old part numbers that are still being sold, well…
It’s a good thing my Honda was sold to me with the campaign already completed; the belt was changed at the beginning of 2024..
Good afternoon,
I just got a big surprise when I took my car to the workshop. Let me tell you about it.
On the 23rd, I have an appointment for the AB23 service (550 euros), but here’s the thing: I asked if, while doing that service, it would be advisable to change the belt since it’s nearing 100,000 kilometers and will be 6 years old this summer. The service manager told me he preferred to check the car and hook it up to the machine since that shows the car’s condition and the next scheduled services. Well, surprisingly, he told me it’s not necessary because there are still 588 days left for the belt change!!!
The belt change is 4, 8, 9—it can vary—but basically, it’s almost certainly not necessary for another year and a half. He had a quote ready for the replacement, and the total was 1,490 euros ![]()
