Well, as we predicted a few months ago after seeing what was happening in the American forum, the PCV hose went out. More info on what I’m saying here:
But as the saying goes, “the devil knows more from being old than from being the devil,” I had already bought the replacement in January. Confirmed that the rubber is of greater hardness and, as you can see, much thicker.
According to some, the gasoline vapors that affect the crankcase (nooo, it’s not oil dilution, it’s normal in direct injection) end up causing the rubber to lose properties and break. The new one seems to be made of better material.
Before anyone asks: Hose: 17131-59B-010 - 23.05 euros
And since I’m at it (a phrase with much danger), I changed the PCV Valve itself, which is not mentioned anywhere but is recommended to be changed at 80,000 km and I have 75,300.
This is how the old one was, and when shaken, the rattle was barely audible. Similarly, when doing the test mentioned in the manual by pinching the previous tube, it wasn’t heard (you hear a click/buzz). Changing it takes two minutes with a flat 10 wrench, so it’s not necessary to remove the clip they remove here.
Before asking: Air pressure control valve: 17130-59B-003 - 44.19 euros
And with this, breakdown and repair complete.
Morrillu: one less worry…
