IMPORTANT - Engine Block Recall Notice

Thank you. I don’t really understand what it is, but I will tell the workshop person where I am going to ask for a second opinion. Thank you very much.

They also replaced my entire engine, and when they did, they did change the turbo. The mechanic told me that this is done because if not, the turbo gets messed up or something like that. It’s logical, new engine and turbo, right? The turbo or the engine gets messed up, so they had to change it too.

The thing is that they didn’t give me anything to justify the engine change. I have to go and get invoices or receipts for everything. On the other hand, I haven’t taken it for a second opinion yet because the mechanic’s shop won’t be back from vacation until next week.

Hello again. Let me tell you, I took it to the workshop for a second opinion, they connected it to the computer and took it for a spin. They said it might be a hose or a gasket but that it needed to be checked thoroughly. In about a week it was fixed, a cracked gasket (which only Honda has and costs €185) and the car is repaired. At Honda, they told me the entire turbo needed to be replaced, over €3,000, and just for looking at it they charged me €199. If you want, I can send you a photo of the part.

Please, send a photo of the piece and reference if possible, as it might help more than one colleague out of trouble. I’m glad it ended up being just that!

I’m glad the issue was resolved this way, not with the help of what I’ve read from the corresponding official Honda service. When mechanics give way to the fitting of original parts, some official services look at us like “sausages.” Regards

I don’t know if they upload like this, if not, let me know and I’ll try another way.

From what I was told, the part is only available from Honda. The price is about €185.
