Wireless CarPlay Adapter | Android Auto (SweetSolutions)

Hi, I recently bought this wireless CarPlay adapter to connect my phone to the car tablet (Android Auto).

It works perfectly; as soon as I get in the car, it connects “without” any issues. The only downside I’ve found is that if I don’t exit the tablet’s sleep screen when I get in (black screen with white dots that doesn’t go away until you press “OK”), the phone keeps trying to connect the whole time (vibrating and giving notifications). Does anyone know how to avoid that???

Thanks in advance!!

Okay, here are the options I found according to ChatGPT; if anyone can think of any others, please let me know:

  • Buy a USB connector with a switch to control the “power” of the SweetSolutions adapter.
  • Disable Android Auto notifications on your phone.
  • Use the ‘Tasker’ or ‘Automate’ apps from the Play Store: they help control when and how your phone connects to the adapter or your car.

You install the Honda Hack Pro version and activate the auto-click option for the warning as soon as the tablet turns on :winking_face_with_tongue:
I also use a dongle like that and don’t have any problems, and it’s one of those simple €15 ones.

Edit: I assume the black screen is the screensaver that pops up because you don’t hit OK on the “the driver is responsible blah blah” warning, right? Well, like I said, with the Honda Hack auto-click, you get rid of that problem.

Alright!!, that’s the one solution I would never do… call me a “wimp” but I’d never dream of “hacking” anything in the car in my life… not out of principle, eh!!, but for fear of breaking something… I suffer enough on a daily basis as a good IT professional with the code I have to “fix”…

But thanks anyway for the tip, it’s appreciated!!

PS: I think in the end I’ll go for the least “intrusive” and simplest one:

  • Disable Android Auto notifications on the phone.

Hi there, I’m thinking about buying one. Do you know if it has any kind of power draw once the car is turned off?

In my case, I replaced the original radio, and besides being able to easily download Google Maps, you can install TomTom or any other app. Now, if I turn on Bluetooth, Android Auto connects wirelessly, though I don’t use it since I prefer the TomTom app. To get rid of the liability disclaimer that pops up at the start, I removed it back in the day with HondaHack, and it hasn’t appeared again when turning on the radio or starting the car.

Good morning,

I ended up getting it and it works perfectly except that every now and then it has brief dropouts or total disconnections; I don’t know if it’s my phone (S21 FE) or what… It’s true that when it disconnects completely, it reconnects on its own after just a few seconds. Does this happen to you too, or am I doing something wrong?

Best regards

Not at all, mine doesn’t have any brief drops or total disconnections… I have a Samsung XCover 5. And I haven’t configured anything special… That used to happen to me before when I connected the phone to the car with the CABLE…

Well then, it must be my phone. Thanks for the quick response :+1:

To be sure, trying another phone should work (partner, parents, siblings, friend…)
You can always report the error to the Amazon seller; they might be able to help you…

In the end, I returned it. I don’t know if it was my phone or if it was defective, but I’ve bought a much cheaper Chinese one and it works like a charm—no cutouts or disconnections.

I’m looking for a little gadget for my 2016 Civic. I have a Xiaomi and I’m thinking about maybe getting a new Xiaomi or a Samsung; which one do you recommend so I don’t have to use a cable? I have the original digital screen. Is it true that those adapters cause problems with calls and phone batteries? Cheers.

Good morning! I also bought this gadget; I had very, very low expectations for the €18 it costs. I was fed up with the Carlinkit I had, which was quite a bit more expensive than this one. It took more than a minute to connect when getting into the car, it would disconnect whenever it felt like it, and I had a ton of micro-stutters while listening to Spotify…

This gadget is amazing; you get in the car and in 10 seconds or less, Android Auto is already running, without micro-stutters in the music and without any kind of random disconnection… and the best part… €18. Highly recommended.
