What have your experiences with air conditioning been? It’s my new unlocked fear, since in Andalusia in the middle of summer, you can’t escape the 35°C, and if you don’t have air conditioning, you can have a hard time… Thanks to everyone in advance!!
I’ve been using my 1.5 since 2020 without any problems.
2019 Civic had radiator and air conditioning changed in 2025, all under warranty.
Hello, there have been several campaigns for replacing defective elements, you can get informed. Other than that, for me, it’s not one of the car’s standout features; I’ve had others that cooled better, although it hasn’t been a problem for me either.
How many years of warranty did you have? 4 or 5 years? I’m quite afraid of getting a unit that fails a lot..
Let’s see if just cooling is enough for me; I don’t need to wear a big coat in the car during summer haha, but I’m worried about the number of “errors” the car has…
The A/C has an extended 10-year warranty.
Morrillu: if you buy a car thinking it won’t fail… it’s going to fail
I disagree, if the evaporator (which is part of the A/C circuit) breaks, the warranty is 5 years from the brand and that’s it. I’ve experienced it myself and the repair costs more than €2000, and that 10-year warranty might be for the condenser and maybe the compressor, which back then, even with the latter, they only covered if you were within the 5 years.
There is a bulletin for the compressor with an extension to 10 years if it leaks from a specific site. The issue would be to know if your compressor had that fault or a different one. 26-10-2023 SX-09-001-01.pdf (569.0 KB)
I lost the air conditioning gas at 8 years and 140,000 km. I called Honda Spain and it’s not covered by their campaign. I’m going to change the condenser - radiator on my own, and they recharged it and it worked great. GOOD AFTERNOON, AUGUST 24, I CHANGED THE AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR, YOU CAN SEE THE STAIN FROM THE LEAK, NOW IT’S WORKING WELL.
Hello. That’s not the case, at least in Madrid. I know firsthand of a case where the A/C of a TypeR failed (it doesn’t cool), and the official service told them that since the car is over 5 years old, it’s not covered by the campaign, and they are asking for €2000 to change the compressor. In my experience, Honda’s after-sales service in Madrid is much worse than Toyota’s. In the Avensis I had before the Civic, they replaced the accessory belt pulley under a campaign 8 years after purchasing it.
Under the 10-year extended warranty, they have to repair it for you. They’ll replace the compressor or repair the condenser. That’s the information I have.
