Android Auto has stopped working

Hi, after the latest Android update on my Samsung XCover 5, Android Auto has stopped working in my car—it won’t connect for the life of me. For the record, the One UI version is 6.1 and the Android version is 14. I’ve tried everything: connecting with a wireless adapter plugged into the car’s USB and also directly with a cable to the car’s USB, but nothing, it won’t connect. The thing is, the phone shows a notification on the screen saying it’s connected to the car, but nothing appears on the car’s screen. The only thing I can think of is buying a suction cup mount to put the phone on the windshield like in the old days… ;). Any ideas? Has this happened to anyone else? My last attempt will be to try another phone… just to rule out if it’s a car problem or a phone problem… or both… hahaha.

Unpair your phone from the car from the tablet menu, that usually works…

Restart your phone, restart the tablet (keep ‘audio’ pressed for several seconds until the option appears) and, as our buddy said, completely unpair your phone from the tablet. Also, if it doesn’t do it automatically, delete any Wi-Fi networks it might have saved (especially your phone’s).

When you say “restart the phone,” do you mean just a simple restart or a factory reset?? Restart the tablet? Doesn’t it restart every time you turn the car off and back on??

Hi, do you mean going to Settings → Smartphone Connectivity and “Deleting” my phone from the list of connected phones??? Or is there something else I need to do???

A regular restart—the kind where you hold down the power button and the restart pop-up appears—did it. This happened to my Samsung S25 after an Android update; it wouldn’t connect at all, and then I just decided to restart the phone and boom, suddenly it was connecting again.

From the tablet, yes… you can also restart the tablet itself.

Yeah, I’ve already tried that… I still need to restart the tablet…

Great guys!! After removing my phone from the tablet and restarting it, I’ve paired it again and it’s working fine now. Thanks for the help!!
