What does this warning mean? It appeared when I turned off the car and turned it back on, it went away. The same thing happened to me about a month and a half ago.
The controller’s battery if I’m not mistaken…
What your friend is telling you is that your car key battery is running low, use a CR2032 battery, change it and you’re all set.
It means you need to look at the owner’s manual.
Morrillu: this just happened to me. What do I do?
I almost got it right, sorry for the confusion…![]()
Hello again! As you saw, the controller was acting weird, yet I changed the 2 batteries of the controllers on the same day this forum was created. Today I got the following warning, which does correspond with batteries (having 1 week)
They are Philips brand, so I should rule out the battery initially… Do you have any idea what could be causing the battery warning 1 and a half weeks after changing them?
By the way, where do you leave your key? Let’s see if it’s making contact with something, I leave it in the cup holder of the central armrest.
Thanks!
I carry it in my pants pocket and have no problem. It’s starting to be a bit strange the warnings it’s giving you, especially if you just put in new batteries. It almost seems more like the car is not detecting it properly rather than the key being faulty. In any case, if you haven’t done so already, try switching to the second key to see if the same thing keeps happening or if the problem disappears, to start ruling out options.
Yes, I have removed the battery directly from the main remote, and I have stored it. Now with a new battery, I will try these days with the other remote, to see what happens. If not, I will take it to Honda to see…
Make sure the battery isn’t expired; it happened to me with some batteries years ago and I almost went crazy. Bought new from the store, it had been expired for a while.
I leave it in the same place, when you take it out of the car do you take it somewhere where it can “touch” the keys and drain the battery?
The remote is continuously emitting a signal, that’s why the car detects it. It doesn’t matter if you press it or not, it will drain.
Morrillu: that’s why the signal can be easily “stolen” and duplicated.
