Hello, could someone help me? My electric fuel pump has broken and it’s under warranty, but when I tested the car, the dealership told me that the high-pressure pump is broken and I have to pay for the repair. It’s a Civic X 1.5 turbo from late 2019. I suppose they’re related, right? Do I have to bite the bullet and pay for the repair? I’ve been looking into it and if the electric pump fails, the high-pressure one can fail too. Anyone who can shed some light, who knows about the issue, or who has experienced it? How did you resolve it? Thank you very much.
Get a report on how they know the high-pressure one is broken. Without disassembling, it might show the error, but it doesn’t necessarily mean the high-pressure one is broken at all. And please don’t write the same thing in 4 different posts.
Alright.
Thank you.
On Monday, I will give the order for them to repair it, and then when it’s ready and I’m going to pay the big amount, I will request it. I will also ask more mechanics. I am scared, I hope the injectors don’t fail afterwards. Right now, without information, I’m blind to what they tell me over the phone. Regards and thank you.
But then they fixed the tank pump during the campaign, but afterwards the high-pressure one fails? And did your car stop starting or did it turn off on you? Because if it all happened at once, I would argue that everything should be covered, not that you have to pay for the other one. And it seems strange to me that both would break at the same time. But without more information, it’s hard to know.
I have no other choice. Honda says it’s very rare and the brand does not authorize it. Logically, it should be this way, but until they explain it to me and give me the report of what they have done, nothing. I will complain to the brand, but I have to pay. I feel deceived. Especially because I arrived with the pump broken and it was under campaign, but my car was not affected according to Honda’s website and I never received a letter from the DGT. It’s not the same to do the campaign with the pump broken in my case as with the defective pump still functioning. If anyone can tell me something about it, I would be very grateful. Thank you.
It started with difficulty and stalled above 2000 RPM with all the warning lights on, the engine light first and then the whole show. In the first diagnosis, they told me it was the pump and that it was covered under a campaign, then they called me and said it was still failing and they needed to check it. They called me on a Friday to tell me it was the high-pressure pump and that they would give me an estimate. They gave me a discount to keep me quiet. I am disappointed with the brand.
On Monday, I will call to authorize the repair and then file a complaint with Honda Spain. I don’t think it will help much, but I think it’s serious that they didn’t notify me in time to change it, and that it broke the electric pump in the tank and then the high-pressure pump that failed. If it had happened to me at 120 km/h, the car would have locked up, and I could have had a serious accident.
My electric car broke down with the family in the car on the highway, and it’s certainly not pleasant, no.
Being the dealership you mentioned, consider yourself screwed… they did something similar to me but with the air conditioning and I ended up getting rid of the car. I would have taken the car to another official workshop or even in Marbella, there’s one that was highly recommended, Jcars or something like that, they are specialists in Honda and work quite well and at a good price.
I’m sorry about what happened Jorcivic, but I complain about Honda as a brand. Did you complain to the brand? I’ll ask you about the procedures to do it. In a month, between oil and filter change and now this, I’ve spent a fortune at the official dealership and tomorrow I start my third week in the workshop. This is the last chance I’m giving them, if something else comes up or they don’t respond correctly, I’ll take it to Jcars in Marbella or another workshop. I don’t know any mechanic in Málaga who works on modern Hondas. I’m totally disappointed and I really like the car. Regards
Of course, I complained to the brand and they told me to deal with it, that since it was out of warranty, the problem was mine and they weren’t going to spend a euro, the service was horrible, I already mentioned it in a post I made.
It’s clear that if the car turns out well, great, but if you have problems, you’re lost. Customer service is garbage, and the official workshop you mentioned is disgraceful. After insisting and them asking for maintenance invoices, which I provided, they stopped responding for no reason. They backed out and stopped replying because the only solution was to shell out 2k €, and they couldn’t even assure me that the issue was what they claimed.
One thing’s for sure, I will never buy a Honda again, because the workshop’s treatment leaves much to be desired. Not to mention when, during one of the services, they scratched the car inside the workshop. The mechanics moved two cars inside, they collided, and one was mine. They solved it by painting it instead of replacing the bumper that had been on the car for no time.
Good luck with the claims and with the service at Honda…
They did the same to me, calling me to go on a Friday to talk to the mechanic so he could explain why the idle was unstable… he says it’s the fault of the high-pressure pump that was letting gasoline into the engine oil… imagine the scenario… be thankful they detected it quickly, with mine they’ve had it since 02/19 and gave me that information on 05/16. I already take it with humor because I just want my car back. But let’s just say the consumer complaint is going to hit them.
Best regards and good luck.
Oil dilution? Have the injectors given you problems? They told you to check the oil to see if it contains any gasoline, right? Mine only has 83,300 km. Let me know what they tell you. Have you been without a car for a long time?
The oil change intervals have been religiously followed at the brand dealership. I hope they can check everything and provide me with reliability for peace of mind. This is my third week without a car.
How many kilometers do you have? Damn, what a plan. Is it an official dealership? Hugs and stay strong.
Hello everyone, in the end, the dealership was very good but Honda Spain was not. I wrote a letter and sent it by postal mail to see what they say, it’s a complaint. Regards and I’ll keep you posted.
