The thing is, I saw a video on the Forum about how to remove the original knob. In my case, it was just a matter of pulling the fabric down and unscrewing it. When I went to install the new one, I found that I couldn’t properly secure the knob or connect it with the plastic tabs that the original Honda fabric has.
Do I need to buy any specific part? Would you recommend another knob besides this one?
Hello, I installed that type of knob “aliexpress performance” and ended up going back to the original after a few days. It only provided aesthetics, and being lighter and thinner than the original, it tended to fail, especially when shifting into 3rd gear. You will need a sleeve that acts as a connector with the fabric. Besides this, I remember also buying a threaded plastic sleeve that screws into the interior of the knob and adapts to the thread of our car’s lever (all aliexpress performance).
If the shape doesn’t matter to you, I have the Poco Low from Acuity installed (red, but it’s also available in black). Advantage over other knobs?? It threads much more, lowers the position of the lever, and shortens the shifts between odd and even gears by 20 mm.
I found this on AliExpress:
€2.40 | Universal Shift Knob Stopper, Shift Head Limiter, Fixed Base, Gear Head Buckle, Aluminum Car Gear Knob Limiter, PQY-SKA93
It usually happens with products that are of good quality and that you know will last, especially with something you are using day after day, week after week.
Personally, I’ve always thought it’s better to wait, save up, and buy one quality item than 10 cheap and bad ones that you’ll end up discarding or will end up breaking over time.
