@Cerebelo exacto
Ok…muchas gracias
Hello everyone! Have you changed the belt?? Mine is asking for it now, at exactly 6 years or 100km, at Honda they charge me 2,000 euros, whereas at the trusted local workshop it’s about 500 euros, what have you done?
Ah!, mine has a timing chain…I thought all Honda Civic X had a chain…
Well, or whatever chain it is, have you changed it already?
Man, as far as I know, the distribution chain doesn’t have regular maintenance or a scheduled change like the belt. It’s designed to last the entire lifespan of the engine…or so I understand…
Have you changed it already?
No, no, I have no idea… unless I’m told otherwise, of course!!
Well, you have to change it when the car is 6 years old.. if it fails, you might as well throw the car away, man..
First news… but I think we are mixing topics, as I told you, what is usually changed is the “TIMING BELT,” not the CHAIN… let’s see if someone else can enlighten us…
Correa is, I just checked, and yes, it needs to be changed every 6 years.
Okay, well, I didn’t know there were models of the HONDA CIVIC X with a belt…
Yours is also like mine, timing belt and you have to change it every 6 years.
The 1.5s have a chain, the 1.0s have an oil-bathed belt.
The 1.0s need changes every 6 years or 120k km as I understand it. The 1.5s don’t need the chain changed (I assume it has its own maintenance, no idea, I have the 1.0).
The 1.5s come with a chain, the 1.0s with an oil-bathed belt.
The 1.0s need changes at 6 years or 120k km as I understand it. The 1.5s don’t need the chain changed.
Good thing someone came to bring some sense to the topic xD For the 1.5s, which have a chain, you only need to adjust it at 120K km.
I changed it in June since the car was 6 years old. I think it was the timing belt + oil change, it cost me about 1600 I believe. The materials were around 500 euros + 8-9 hours of labor.
Isn’t that at the Honda? God, I’ll take it to a regular workshop and they charge me 600 euros, those at Honda are overcharging.
976 euros + VAT are being charged around here in Asturias. The difference is in the labor cost, which is not the same if they charge you 50 or 80… in 8 hours that’s already 240 euros more.
Buuuuut with the belt issues and the recall, I’m not taking any chances.
Morrillu: Make sure they change everything necessary…
