Clarification note, the legal warranty is 3, the other 2 are commercial warranty and you lose them.
Hi, I had my AB service done today at Honda Sucar Motor. I’ll post the invoice tomorrow, but the total was 297 euros.
When checking if they did the reset, I see it says 260 days. I asked them if that’s normal and they said yes, that something else might pop up soon. Is that right?
Sure, in addition to A and B you have revisions 2 through 9, so it’s perfectly normal.
Okay, thank you very much for your response.
Damn, 300€ for a simple oil change, they’re really pushing it. Do you have the invoice? (Just being nosy, to be honest)
Regarding the 260 days, you have to look at what codes appear. In the end, some things are brought forward or delayed based on mileage or time, and it’s not always annual.
Have you noticed if prices have been going up compared to previous times? I haven’t been in a few years now.
At Sucar, I’ve been to the one in Majadahonda and the one in Madrid (now closed) and I had bad experiences at both. Well, I’ve been to many in Madrid and I’ve seen bad things I didn’t like in all of them. Being charged for more time than what’s listed in the service book itself is common, and you can complain, probably even directly to Honda Spain.
Can you send the link to the Telegram group??
Thanks
I’ll upload the invoice tomorrow. Regarding price increases, it has actually gone up a bit; last year I did the change myself, ordering the Honda oil and filter, and I’ll do the same next year.
Civic sedan 1.5 turbo manual
Valdemotor Lugones. 10/10 as always
116,416km
AB 28 (oil and filter, air and cabin filters) and since there were 2 months left, I also did code 3 (transmission maintenance)
Price €375.29. What do you think? In 5-6 months, it’s already indicating a valve adjustment.
I think it’s good, is the transmission included?
I paid about the same for the AB27 last year…
Yes, all included.
I’m due for the AB service, and I thought something more would come up, like the air filter which hasn’t been flagged once in 6 years… I’m definitely buying and changing that one myself this year, no matter what.
How can you check the upcoming services? I’ve seen some screenshots from someone, but I don’t know if it requires Honda Hack or if anyone can see it…
It’s a good chance to compare because I also had an AB service 2 years ago, so I can check how much it costs now.
I don’t have a trusted independent workshop in northern Madrid, and I have a feeling they’ll put in who-knows-what oil… I think I prefer the peace of mind of the dealership “robbery.” I’ve taken my other cars to several places, but the experience hasn’t been cheap or good.
It’s changed every year… They probably changed it preventively during the services and reset the 2, which is why it wouldn’t show up for you.
Changing it yourself is as simple as it gets—just open the box, take out the filter, clean it, and put in another one. Very easy to access. Same for the pollen filter.
To see service intervals that haven’t popped up on the dashboard yet, you need a diagnostic tool like the Autel that many of us have around here.
