Honda Civic key

Muchas gracias!

The one you mentioned from Aliexpress has the remote start button, and unless you have a Civic purchased in the United States/Canada/Mexico, and I think only those with the CVT transmission, that button won’t be of any use to you. I have a CVT, and apparently, European models don’t have a “centralita” or module for remote start from the key fob, just like the “panic” button, which we don’t have either.

Well, I’m getting off track. If you ask me, I don’t think that key fob will work for your Civic. At most, you could swap the casing with the one you have by transplanting the internal board, but I don’t see much point in that because you’ll have an extra button that won’t do anything.

Did you end up buying that key?… does anyone know if it’s worth it?… I’m looking for one because the other day my wife’s bag was stolen and one of the car keys I have was in it :downcast_face_with_sweat:

I called the Honda dealership to ask for the price of a new one, but it’s not going to happen… they told me 682.10€ in total (coding and VAT included)…

So I’m looking for more affordable alternatives…

If anyone knows of one that works well, I’d appreciate it if you could comment.

If it helps anyone… In the end, they made me a copy for €160.

The key is “keyless” type. It also includes the blade.

The only thing is that the sensor seems to have a slightly shorter range than the original because the “keyless” opening function doesn’t work very smoothly with the trunk lid; sometimes (not always) I have to take the key out of my pocket and bring it closer to the handle to open it. But as I said, it only happens with the trunk lid, the rest of the doors work fine, and the car starts just like with the original.

The copy was made for me in Vigo, at Cerrajería Placer. The service was excellent.
