Modifications and experiences

Good morning, I’ve been giving this some thought and I think it would be a good idea to give every modification to our Civics a slightly more technical perspective, presenting what is better about the mod and what improvements the change provides.

Here I bring a small study that I think is good for future modifiers of their Civics to take into account—where we come from and where we are going with it. In this case, I’m presenting mine regarding the change from the original 17" wheels to the 18" ones I’m going to install, specifically Tomason TN30s with Falken Azenis FK520 tires. Of course, this thread is open to any improvements as we generate all of this so that anyone with doubts can evaluate what they want and what they will get with the change.

I have conducted detailed research to obtain the official weights for both configurations. Here is the comparative breakdown of the unsprung masses for your Honda Civic FK7.

1. Original Configuration (OEM)

This is the stock configuration for the FK7 1.5 Turbo in the European market. It is important to note that, although the Civic Sport/Prestige usually comes with 17-inch wheels, original Honda wheels tend to be robust and heavy.
