Good afternoon! ![]()
Well, Iāve been hearing a certain noise thatās been bothering me:
If you pay attention to the video and listen carefully, when the rear axle drops, you can hear a kind of metallic āclonk,ā like a sheet metal sound.
The noise only occurs when moving over some irregularity in the terrain or a speed bump; however, I always notice it coming from the back (both axles).
Iāve taken it to a workshop and they donāt see anything unusual or loose, Iāve put it on a lift and hit all the undercarriage parts everywhere and it doesnāt make any noise at all, nothing is loose either⦠Iāve also spent a couple of days putting the car on jack stands, removing the wheels, hitting everything, trying to tighten everything well and nothing⦠It keeps making the noise.
I have the trunk completely empty, Iāve loosened the rear stabilizer bar and itās firm, Iāve checked the wheel bolts, making sure the exhaust doesnāt touch any sheet metalā¦
These are some of the things I have that could affect (or not):
- Changed exhaust (intermediate and rear)
- Changed exhaust hanger
- Original wheel bolts (the factory ones were cut with a grinder and I had to replace them)
- 18-inch wheels (JR)
- Eibach springs (front and rear)
- At one point before changing the wheels, I used spacers
Any ideas are welcome ![]()
Thanks!!
